Disc herniation

Intervertebral discs are cartilaginous elastic panels made out of a resistant outer ring of ligaments and a gelatinous inner core. Their role is to soften (like a pillow) the shocks and bumps between neighbouring vertebrae. After an accident, heavy loads or wearing off that comes with ageing, the external capsule of the disc is disturbed and the internal core forces itself out. The so-called disc herniation occurs. Because of this, the nerve root of a spinal nerve can be compressed and cause a back pain with a disruption in the sensitivity and mobility of the limbs.

Minimally invasive procedures of the back focusing on disc herniations (endoscopic discectomy, intradiscal denervation), provided by EuroPainClinics®, offer the patients a big list of advantages.
